The improvement of electrochemical performance of lithium manganese spinel oxide in the elevated temperature by the addition of HF scavenging responsive polymer |
초록 |
Spinel-type lithium manganese oxide is a promising cathode material for power sources needed for electric vehicles and commercial energy storage systems due to its high rate performance and eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness. However, this material suffers from a significant capacity fading in the cycling at the elevated temperature due to the manganese dissolution and the formation of unstable John-Teller Mn3+ ions. It is now well-recognized that manganese dissolution is catalyzed by a trace amount of water and HF present in the electrolyte. In this study, we developed a simple wet process to apply a thin polymer membrane coating on the electrode which can play as HF scavengers and thus improve the performance. We will present a series of evidences for functioning of this polymer membrane and analyze the effect on the performance. |
