Selective laser sintering is currently recognized as a leading process in the fast form manufacturing. Polymer powders for laser sintering were needed in order to fabricate the articles with the three-dimensional equipment of selective laser sintering process. The various laser sintering materials, such as polypropylene, polyethylene and polyamide, have been widely investigated. Especially, polyamide-12 proved useful in fabrication by laser sintering process. Polyamide-12 powders were prepared in the high pressure wet process to have high bulk density, narrow size distribution and better aspect ratio of particles. Several additives such as fluid stabilizer, antistatic agent, and size stabilizer were used successfully in order to improve the sintering properties of powders. |
