The therapeutic application of many drugs with significant biological activities has been limited by their intrinsic poor water solubility. In this study we have synthesized glycol chitosan derivative bearing β-cyclodextrin moieties as a novel carriers for paclitaxel, by chemically conjugating carboxymethyl β-cyclodextrin to glycol chitosan backbone. The physiochemical characteristics of the system were investigated by 1H NMR, FT-IR, and evaluated the aqueous solubility of paclitaxel. This system can be useful as a better delivery system for paclitaxel. |
