제목 | Morphological development of the polymer interface with reactive compatibilizer under electric field |
초록 | Liquid/liquid or liquid/air interface under external electric fields enhances fluctuations with a characteristic wavelength leading to an instability and the formation well-defined patterns. In this study, we applied the electric field to reactive blend systems of carboxylic acid end-functional PS (PS-mCOOH) and poly(methyl methacrylates) (PMMA) with various amounts of an in-situ compatibilizer of poly(methyl methacrylates-ran-glycidyl methacrylate) (PMMA-GMA). The interface and surface morphology was investigated by using atomic force microscope (AFM), optical microscope (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). We could control the size scale of pillar down to submicron by controlling the amount of the in-situ compatibilizer and film thickness.
