제목 | The Effect of Various Salts on The Order-to-Disorder Transition of Block Copolymer |
초록 | Abstract : The effect of various ion salts on the order-to-disorder transition [ODT] of a symmetric Polystyrene-block-Poly(2-vinyl pyridine)[PS-P2VP] copolymer is investigated by using small angle X-ray scattering, polarized optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and rheology. PS-P2VP exhibits amphiphilic characteristic and ODT upon heating. Addition of ion salts within P2VP segments was prepared by using solution casting. After PS-P2VP was dissolved in ethanol, CdCl2 was added in this solution. Finally both sonication for 30 min and mechanical mixing for 1 day were applied to PS-2VP/CdCl2 solutions. The amount of added ion salts was characterized by FT-IR and UV spectroscopy. The ODT was dramatically increased with increasing the added amount of ion salts. This is because of special interactions between P2VP block and various ion salts. The change of domain sizes and microdomain morphology was discussed in detail with the added ion salts.
