제목 Preparation of silica aerogel using glucose as a template
초록 Silica aerogels were synthesized by sol-gel method using glucose aqueous solution at an ambient temperature and pressure. Hydrogels were prepared from tetramethylorthosilicate (TMOS) under acidic condition by addition of formic acid. Silica aerogels were obtained successfully by simple extraction of excess glucose with water instead of using solvent exchange and supercritical drying. The pore structure of silica aerogels were successfully controlled by varying the molar ratio of glucose and TMOS. Newly prepared silica aerogels have surface areas at a range of  650-750 m2  g-1.
