제목 | Application of Ultrasound to the Synthesis and Properties of Polyurethane Foam/Clay Nanocomposite |
초록 | Polyurethane foam (PUF)/clay nanocomposites was synthesized with the clay modified with PMDI applying ultrasound. The application of ultrasound to the clay modification with PMDI could intensify the miscibility between the PMDI and the clay. The improvement of mixing efficiency of the clay and PMDI was achieved by the effective breakup of the clay agglomerates and exfoliation of the silicate layers. In the mechanical strength test of the PUF/clay nanocomposites, the PUF/clay nanocomposite applying ultrasound showed excellent mechanical strength than the pure PUF and PUF/clay nanocomposite without applying ultrasound. In the fire resistance test, as the amount of the modified clay increased, the ignition time was shortened and ignition length was decreased. In addition, at the same modified clay content, the fire resistance property of the PUF/clay nanocomposite applying ultrasound was improved than the PUF/clay nanocomposite without applying ultrasound. The cell size and thermal conductivity of the PUF/clay nanocomposites were decreased with the increase of the modified clay content. Acknowledgement.
