제목 Enhanced air stability of n-type OFET using metal salt multifunctional layer
초록 A new type of solution processable multi-functional layer based on cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3) metal salt is introduced into n-type organic field effect transistors (OFETs) using [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) semiconductor as an active layer. It can serve not only as an efficient passivation layer to ambient air but also interlayer for better charge injection. Induced dipole moment gives rise to lowering energy barrier for charge injection and it results in reduction of contact resistance. Furthermore, in the devices using Cs2CO3 passivation layer, even after 250 hours in air, there were no significant changes comparing to devices without the layer, which were severely degraded with time. This results are attributed to crystalline structure of Cs2CO3 metal salt that efficiently prevents from penetrating of oxygen into the PC61BM active layer. X-ray diffraction (XRD) data shows well-defined crystalline structure of the Cs2CO3 film on the PC61BM semiconductor.
