In an attempt to improve the water solubility of the poorly soluble drugs, we have synthesized various amphiphilic hydrotropic conjugates which can form self-assembled nanoparticles and imbibe a quantity of the hydrophobic drug in an aqueous environment. The hydtrotropic oligomers, terminated with the reactive functional group, were synthesized by the radical polymerization in the presence of the chain transfer agent. They were then conjugated to the hydrophilic polysaccharides such as glycol chitosan and hyaluronic acid. The physicochemical properties of the conjugates were characterized using various instruments, and their potential as the drug carrier for cancer therapy was investigated. |
