제목 | Enhanced activity of Pd-Ni/C catalyst on formic acid decomposition by sequentially impregnation method with optimum Ni content |
초록 | It is one of the important issues on energy to find a sustainable energy source without harming the environment. Hydrogen gets more attention for its superior properties, which are pollution free material, high energy density and renewability. However, one problem, hydrogen energy has, is the storage originated from its flammability. In this aspect, Formic acid is considered as a hydrogen storage media, because it is aqueous phase and can be decomposed into H2 and CO2. Pd/C is known as basic catalyst for formic acid decomposition in aqueous phase, however, it has drawback of generating CO via dehydration. Hence the catalyst need to be modified to improve the activity and selectivity. One way is to introduce other metals as promoter, and another is changing support. In this work, we prepared catalyst with adding Ni to Pd/C by modifying preparation method, which is sequentially impregnation of Pd and Ni. The much improved activity was obtained in this catalyst with optimized amount of Ni. Based on several characterizations of the catalysts, the active phase of Pd-Ni/C catalyst also could be suggested. |
