Development of Donor/Acceptor Co-Polymers (PCDTBT) With Different Molecular Weights for Photovoltaic Solar Cells |
초록 |
Active semiconducting materials in organic photovoltaics for effective harvesting of solar energy. Photovoltaics are green energy systems that possess many advantages such as light-weight, low cost, facile fabrication for large area, and mechanical flexibility. Power conversion efficiency (PCE) is very important parameter for solar cell device. Some serious limitations of current organic semiconductor based solar cell devices include relatively low mobility of charge carriers and the narrow absorption bands. This problem can be addressed by developing push-pull polymers with alternating electron rich and electron poor units. We have previously demonstrated best PCE of 3% in a photovoltaic device involving PCDTBT. Different molecular weights of PCDTBT were investigated for their optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties. The best PCE achieved was around 1.5% under illumination of AM 1.5 (1000 W m-2) from a solar simulator. |
