제목 | Graphene work-function adjustment by alkyl chain length in amine-based compounds |
초록 | In this study, the effect of alkyl chain length in amine-based compounds on the work-function of graphene is investigated. The graphene was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition method and layers were functionalized by amine-based groups using spin-coating method. The amine-based compounds are composed of phenyl amine, methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, n/t-butyl- and octyl-phenyl amine groups. Among doped graphene, t-butyl-phenyl amine functionalized graphene achieves the lowest work-function of 3.89 eV (compared with 4.43 eV of pristine graphene). These results suggest the best alkyl chain is t-butyl group to reduce work-function of graphene and promise the use of materials as cathodes for opto-electronic applications.
