제목 Non-conventional lithographic patterning for high-performance organic transistors
초록 Organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) fabricated with non-conventional lithographic patterning methods is proposed. In this study, we report the fabrication method of micro-wells, which are used in prepatterned banks, by selective removal of polymer insulator using inkjet printing of solvent. We changed the surface wettability of well surface to control morphologies and crystalline microstructures of organic semiconductors in banks. We used 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS_PEN) as organic semiconductor. Self-aligned TIPS_PEN crystals were produced in hydrophilic well surface where the contact line is pinned at the top corner of the well upon drying. However, reduced convective flow in hydrophobic well surface leads to uniform deposits of TIPS_PEN. Our non-conventional patterning technique using inkjet printing provides a way for patterning uniform banks in large-areas.
