The effect of the dye loading process on the adsorption mechanism and the efficiency of DSSCs |

DSSC is one of the most promising future energy sources. It was demonstrated by Grtzel group in 1991.Many researchers have studied this type of solar cells and reported advanced results. Despite the progress there are several issues for commercialization. Cost of materials and durability of the devices in outdoor should be solved. To realize a low cost fabrication reduction of dye-loading as well as improvement of power conversion efficiency should be achieved. In this presentation, we report that a mechanism of the dye adsorption process on the surface of TiO2 nanoparticles using steric acid and step adsorbing process. The order of the dye loading process can affect the loaded dye amount and harvesting ability. This will enhance the harvesting ability of dyes and power conversion efficiency, even 70% of dye loading. |
