제목 Modification of Titanium Dioxide Surface with Acrylic Copolymer
초록 Poly(methyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate-co-methacrylic acid) was copolymerized on the surface of TiO2 by dispersion polymerization in order to improve the electrophoretic characteristics of TiO2. The chemical structure of the surface modification, morphology and the surface charge of the TiO2 particles were characterized. Through the modification of the TiO2 with acrylic copolymer, the aggregation tendency and the density of the modified TiO2 were both reduced. Also, the surface charge of the modified particles was enhanced. The electrophoretic movement test was performed in low dielectric media to confirm the migration behavior of the modified particles. To facilitate the electrophoretic movement of the modified TiO2, charge control agent (CCA) was also added to the low dielectric media.
