Nowadays, electro-optical switchable materials have been actively investigated to develop smart glass or smart windows based on polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC). PDLC is dispersion of nematic liquid crystal microdroplets in a solid polymer matrix. In addition, PDLC can be applied in various fields such as architectural interior, display, transportation and semiconductor due to its unique optical properties, simple manufacturing process and energy saving. In this work, PDLC composites with different polymer compositions and initiator ratios were prepared by UV-curing method which can easily obtain PDLC between conductive indium tin oxide film without further processing. The morphology and electro-optical response of PDLC composites composed of nematic LC E7 and acrylate-based materials with various refractive indices were evaluated. |
