제목 | Study on the Preparation and Characterization of Polybutene-1 (PB-1)/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes (MWNTs) Nanocomposites. |
초록 | Polybutene-1 (PB-1) is widely used polyolefins for pipes of constructions, package and easy peel films because of their good properties such as creep and crack resistance, gas barrier property, and chemical resistance etc. The progressed research on the applications of CNT (Carbon Nanotube) suggested that the CNT can be used as a promising reinforcement in a new kind of polymer nanocomposites due to its highly aspect ratio and well dispersity. In order to achieve excellent mechanical properties of PB-1, we present nanocomposites based on PB-1 and multi-wall carbon nanotube directly blended in the melt and/or in solution. We expect that the addition of the MWNTs attribute to improve mechanical properties, non-flammability, gas-barrier property for PB-1. We can find the degree of dispersion of MWNTs within PB-1 matrix influence upon the mechanical properties through Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Wide angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) was employed to investigate crystal structure changes for PB-1/MWNTs nanocomposites compared with virgin PB-1 polymer. |
