To understand the phosphorescent dopant-induced photoluminescence (PL) properties of photoactive thin films, we prepared two types of polymer, poly(9-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) and poly[9,9-bis(2-ethylhexyl)fluorene-2,7-diyl] (PF2/6) doped with triplet emitters, fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)Ir(III) (Ir(ppy)3), bis[(4,6-fluorophenyl)-pyridinato-N,C2’] (picolinate) Ir(III) (FIrpic), bis[2,(2’-benzothienyl)-pyridinato-N,C3'] (acetlyacetonate) Ir(III) ((btp)2Ir(acac)) as thin films. Those doped films were characterized by means of UV-Vis absorption, PL, PL excitation (PLE) spectroscopy for a wide spectral range. Study on time resolved PL in frozen solutions and films were perfomed as well. We found various facilities of exciton migration from the matrix to the dopant and the subsequent triplet emission depending on the used matrix polymer and dopant. |
