제목 High efficiency phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes
초록 Quantum efficiency of phosphorescent light emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) has been reported to be reduced with increasing current density and its origin has been attributed to the triplet-triplet annihilation coming from long lifetime of triplet excitons, electric field induced dissociation of excitons and triplet-polaron annihilation. Based on emission spectra and exciton lifetimes vs. current density in Ir(ppy)3 doped PhOLEDs, however, we report that the roll-off of the quantum efficiency at high current density is related to the exciton formation in the hole transporting layer especially at below 10 mA/cm2.By confining the exciton formation zone in the emitting layer we could get high performance PhOLEDs with the external quantum efficiency over 20%.
