High efficiency phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes |
초록 |
Quantum efficiency of phosphorescent light emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) has been reported to be reduced with increasing current density and its origin has been attributed to the triplet-triplet annihilation coming from long lifetime of triplet excitons, electric field induced dissociation of excitons and triplet-polaron annihilation. Based on emission spectra and exciton lifetimes vs. current density in Ir(ppy)3 doped PhOLEDs, however, we report that the roll-off of the quantum efficiency at high current density is related to the exciton formation in the hole transporting layer especially at below 10 mA/cm2.By confining the exciton formation zone in the emitting layer we could get high performance PhOLEDs with the external quantum efficiency over 20%. |
