Nanometer-size inorganic dots, rods, tubes and wires have attracted a lot of attention for their distinguishable and size-dependent optical, electronic, magnetic and electrical properties depending on their sizes and shapes. They have been widely studied for advanced devices such as single electron transistors, memories, optical sensors and catalysts. For that, recent strategies have focused on the shape control and long-range ordering. Here we demonstrate the structural transformation of Au nanoparticles to self-assembled nanorods using AOT microemulsion system. Furthermore, formation of Au nanoparticles self-assembled to microfiber-like structures with the long-range ordered nanopattern is further demonstrated. The methodology demonstrated here in incommensurably unique and novel. |
