This study evaluates the electrocatalytic performance in the various transition metals alloyed with Pt3M1/C, which first reveals that the optimal alloy is Pt3Ni1. Compared to the commercial Pt/C electrode, the well-designed Pt3Ni1/N-rGO electrode obtained by highly dispersing and growing uniform Pt3Ni1 alloy nanoparticles of 5.0 nm or less in N-rGO support electrode by solvothermal method. Here, the Pt3Ni1 alloy is surrounded by rGO, and it prevents the transition metal Ni from be corroded by the acid medium. This electrode shows almost the unchanged ESCA and LSV polarization curves with the initial stage even though after 5,000th-cyclic voltammetry test. In addition, the Pt3Ni1/N-rGO electrode has very strong resistant to CO poisoning compared to the commercial Pt/C electrode. |
