| 제목 | Threats Posed by Chem-Bio Terrorisms and Countermeasures thereof |
| 초록 | In terms of public health and national security, typical substances that pose threats to our daily lives are toxic compounds and pathogens. Among these threats, the first one is from toxic chemical weapons. Chemical weapons are not only used as asymmetrical weapons, but also as terrorist tools. The second one comes from various diseases, which in turn can be classified into three forms depending on the source of the pathogens: natural disease (MERS, Covid-19), intentional release (2001 Anthrax terrorism), and accidental release (Sverdlovsk Anthrax release). This presentation is to address the status of threats posed by chemical and biological agents, the current status of ROK and USA preparedness against biothreats, and gaps to be improved, thereby contributing to the preparedness of the ROK government in these fields. |
