제목 Effects of Protogenic Group on Phase Behavior and Ion Transport Properties of Acid-Bearing Block Copolymers
초록 As the focus on proton exchange fuel cells continues to escalate in the era of alternative energy systems, the rational design of acid-bearing polymers has emerged as a key technique for enhancing device efficiency. In this study, we have synthesized a set of phosphonated block copolymers which show a rich phase behavior, i.e., disorder, lamellae, and hexagonal cylinder, depending on acid concentrations. A range of ionic liquids (ILs) were incorporated into the block copolymers and their morphology and ion transport properties were examined. We found that the use of alkyl substituted cation was beneficial to improve the conductivity and segregation strength of IL-containing phosphonated block copolymers, unlike the results observed in IL-containing sulfonated ones. Our works provide insights into the design of acid-bearing polymers as advanced polymer electrolyte membranes.
