Hybrid capacitors have an important role in super-capacitors, namely high power capabilities and prolonged cycle-life, while having higher specific energy density. Usually this is realized by assembling an asymmetric cell with an electric double-layer capacitor and searching for alternative energy storage system using multivalent cations. However, existing carbon based electrodes for volumetric capacitnaces have a limitation at around 60F cm-3. Recently, a new group of 2D transition metal carbide are standing in a spotlight because it represents a type of 2D material that has demonstrated many possibilities in electrochemical energy storage applications. To full utilization, Mxene is hybridized with graphene. GO/Mxene composites can provide hierarchical structure, which is benefit to the ion diffusion and decrease the charge transfer resistance. Due to these reasons, it can be considered as a promising electrode candidate for high energy storage system. |
