In this report, we present the novel and simple of synthesis process for the hierarchically titanium-containing mesoporous catalysts with MFI crystalline structure and the enhancement of catalytic activity. The hierarchically titanium-containing mesoporous catalysts were synthesized by a simple two-step process. First, titanium-containing mesoporous catalysts as mother support were synthesized through the conventional synthesis process. Then, the second step was the DGC (Dry-Gel Conversion) process as the recrystallization process of the amorphous wall structure. The structural properties of synthesized catalysts were investigated by various characterization methods. The mesoporosity of mother supports shows the well-developed mesoporous properties. After the DGC process, the prepared hierarchy catalysts have MFI structure, and the Ti and Si species participate to the recrystallization at the atomic level. Especially, the large amount of Ti species is transformed into tetrahedral-coordinated Ti species. These changes appeared to improve the catalytic activity of the epoxidation of olefins. |
