Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is highly utilized as structural and electronic materials because it has high hardness, chemically stable, and excellent ion conductivity. In order to obtain a dense sintered body of YSZ is required small and uniform particles in the suspension. However, when the particle size decreases, it forms aggregation due to high surface energy. To solve these problems, many kinds of research have been conducted to improve the dispersion characteristics by using additives such as dispersants. Dispersing agent differs depending on the structure, bonding structure, molecular weight, and functional group type. In this study, PAA (Polyacrylic acid) and PMAA (Poly methacrylic acid) with different molecular weights were used to find the optimum molecular weight according to particle size. In order to confirm the dispersion characteristics of the suspension, the viscosity and the height of the sediment were measured, and the particle size was analyzed using PSA. The zeta potential was measured to confirm electrostatic characteristics and adsorption. |
