Organic molecules showing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) have been attracting a great deal of research interests because they can utilize excited triplet states without heavy metal elements different from the conventional pure organic fluorophores. To date, a lot of TADF materials have been reported. However, molecular design strategies for fine tuning of their photophysical characteristics, such as emission wavelength, color purity, fluorescence quantum yield, excited-state rate constants, and lifetime, are comparably less studied. Herein, 1,3,4-oxadiazole-based TADF-emissive molecules are systematically designed and synthesized to finely tune the photophysical properties by delicately modulating intramolecular charge transfer character. |
