제목 The fabrication of the multidimensional polypyrrole nanotube for highly sensitive chemiresistive gas sensors
초록 High-performance chemiresistive gas sensors based on multidimensional conducting polymer (CP) nanotubes was fabricated. Unique structures consisting of nanonodules (NDs) and nanowires (NWs) were grown on electrospun nanofiber template using vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) method. The resulting multidimensional polypyrrole nanotubes (MPPy NTs) showed an enhanced surface-to-volume ratio, providing efficient charge carrier transport along an anisotropic tubular structure. Importantly, the electrical resistance changes of the MPPy NTs were sensitive and selective to specific volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The chemiresistive gas sensors had excellent sensing performance with a detection limit of 10 ppb, which is 2–3 orders of magnitude more sensitive than that of previously reported ammonia sensors.
