Effects of hydrothermal treatment on the performance of Pt-Co/Al2O3 in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis |

The effects of hydrothermal treatment temperature on the performance of Pt-Co/Al2O3 catalysts were investigated in Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reaction. The catalyst were tested in a fixed-bed reactor under the reaction conditions of T=220oC and pace velocity =7000 L/Kg-cat/h. Structural properties and surface morphologies of the Pt-Co/Al2O3 were characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM. The catalyst treated hydrothermally at 150oC showed enhancements in activity and C5+ selectivity compared to non-treated catalyst while the ones treated above 230oC showed decreases in activity and C5+ selectivity which is mainly due to the phase transformation of support from γ-Al2O3 to boehmite and active metal loss. |
