제목 In-Situ Synthesis of a Water-Soluble Ionic Polyacetylene via the Non-catalyst Polymerization of Ethynylpyridines Using Iodine
초록 Conjugated ionic polymer systems have potential as materials for mixed ionic and electronic conductivity, energy storage devices such as batteries and permselective membrane, and light-emitting devices, due to the their extensive conjugation and various functionalities. Here, we report on the facile in-situ synthesis of a new conducting polymer by the uncatalyzed polymerization of 2- or 3-ethynylpyridine using iodine. The equimolar mixture of ethynylpyridine and iodine in DMF was easily polymerized in homogeneous manner to give a high yield polymer. The electro-optical and electrochemical properties were measured and discussed.
