In-Situ Synthesis of a Water-Soluble Ionic Polyacetylene via the Non-catalyst Polymerization of Ethynylpyridines Using Iodine |
초록 |
Conjugated ionic polymer systems have potential as materials for mixed ionic and electronic conductivity, energy storage devices such as batteries and permselective membrane, and light-emitting devices, due to the their extensive conjugation and various functionalities. Here, we report on the facile in-situ synthesis of a new conducting polymer by the uncatalyzed polymerization of 2- or 3-ethynylpyridine using iodine. The equimolar mixture of ethynylpyridine and iodine in DMF was easily polymerized in homogeneous manner to give a high yield polymer. The electro-optical and electrochemical properties were measured and discussed. |
