제목 A Study on Characteristics and Performance of Membrane-Electrode Assemblies Employing Chloromethylated Polysulfone-Based Solid Alkaline Electrolytes
초록 Solid alkaline fuel cells(SAFCs) are a new type of fuel cells with the configuration of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs), but the principle of alkaline fuel cells(AFCs). In other words, polymeric anion-exchange membranes(AEMs) as an electrolyte enable to combine both advantages of PEMFCs and AFCs. They are easy to assemble all the components, able to use non-precious catalyst and possible to provide a favorable oxygen reduction reaction. For the aforementioned advantages, development of AEMs with good OH- conductivity is prerequisite. In this study, chloromethlyated polysulfone-based AEMs aminated by mono- and/or diamine were employed in membrane-electrolyte assemblies(MEAs). The catalyst slurries were prepared by mixing the catalyst powder(i.e., Ni/C, Pt/C and Ag/C), deionized water and the lab.-made ionomer binder to the polymeric electrolyte (5%) in DMF or DMAc. Fabricated MEAs were characterized and evaluated at H2/air, 50~100% RH, 40~80 oC and ambient pressure.
