Among various nanomaterials for drug delivery applications, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have received great attention since they exhibit security and flexible properties, including biocompatibility and low cytotoxicity, significant chemical inertness, famously mechanical stability, highly specific surface area and large pore volumes, tunable particle diameter, and facile surface functionalization. The surface of the silica was modified with carboxylic acid groups prior to loading with aminoboronic acid groups. Afterwards, the pores of the MSNs were capped by reacting cellulose. The connection between the functionalized mesoporous silica and capping reagent are broken in weak acid condition. It is possible to be used as pH-responsive drug delivery system for targeted drug delivery applications. |
