제목 Crystal morphologies of engineered precipitated calcium carbonate in carbonation process
초록 Precipitated calcium carbonate(PCC) is a fully synthetic product. Among different polymorphs of calcium carbonate(CaCO3), calcite is of great interest because of its use as a coating color pigment or filler in papermaking process. The calcite forms of PCC are rhombohedral and scalenohedral, depending on manufacturing conditions such as pH, temperature and supersaturation. In this study, PCC is synthesized using CO2 gas through an aqueous slurry of Ca(OH)2 according to various conditions in carbonation process and crystal morphology of PCC was investigated in order to develop high-bulk engineered calcium carbonate.
