Poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) are widely used for CO2 separation membrane materials because they have a high affinity for CO2 due to dipole-quadrupole interactions. However, PEG have drawbacks such as low permeability and difficulty in manufacturing due to their high crystallinity and low physical properties. In order to solve these problems, researches have prepared crosslinked polymers using a crosslinking agent. In case of the crosslinked polymers, the degree of crystallinity can be reduced because the added agent interferes with the regular arrangement of polymer chains. Furthermore, the mechanical strength can be improved by adjusting the crosslinking density. Therefore, in this study, PEG-based crosslinked membranes were prepared under UV irradiation. The prepared membranes were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TGA and DSC. The permeability and selectivity of the membranes for CO2, CO and N2 were investigated using time-lag apparatus. |
