Common solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are not entirely free from the fault of lower ionic conductivity than gel polymer electrolytes. To achieve high ionic conductivity, we have introduced polymer-in-salt system having fast ion transport mechanism. High ionic conductivity is also related to the number of free ion. So we introduced poly (hydroxylethyl methacrylate) (p(HEMA)) having many polar groups as a matrix of SPE. Polymer-in-salt system has disadvantage which is decreasing mechanical properties as increasing salt concentration and to overcome it, p(HEMA) was chemically crosslinked. Network polymer was prepared from p(HEMA) and HCl as acid catalyst. And SPEs were made on a stainless steel electrode from a solution of network polymer, dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO), and lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate (LiCF3SO3). Ionic conductivities and mechanical properties of SPE were investigated by using ac impedance analyzer and universal testing machine, respectively. |
