Conventional hydrodesulfurization (HDS) has difficulty in reducing refractory sulfur compounds such as dibenzothiophene (DBT) and its derivatives to an ultra low level due to their steric hindrance. Among the various alternative desulfurization techniques, oxidative desulfurization (ODS) has drawn much attention due to its mild conditions which present competitiveness over the conventional HDS process. In this work, titanium containing catalysts were prepared using the mesoporous materials (MMS: Mesoprous Molecular Sieve, SBA-15, MCM-41) as support materials and tested for the ODS of DBT, 4,6-dimethlydibenzothiophene (4,6-DMDBT) and industrial feed. |
