CD44-positive cancer cell has the characteristics of colon cancer cells such as breast, pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancers. CD44 is an adhesion molecule contributing cell proliferation and differentiation through the contacts between the extracellular matrix and other cells via hyaluronic acid which is one of biological ligands. In this study, we examined the effects of the concentration of hyaluronic acid on the inhibition on the proliferation of MCF-7, a breast cancer cell. In addition, we also examined the cell viability under the presence of drug complex incorporated within the hydrogel scaffold. |
