We investigated the crystallization behaviors of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) from aqueous solutions by varying precisely their concentration, humidity, and temperature. A variety of well-defined crystal structures was formed from Na2CO3 solutions coated on substrate by either dropping or draining as solvent was evaporated. Both size and shape of salt crystals could be effectively tuned in change of experimental condition. After a layer of silver (Ag) was deposited on the surface where salt crystals existed, it was possible to remove the crystals with H2O and fabricate remaining Ag network structures. In addition, the crystals formed were utilized as the master pattern to fabricate the soft replica of poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS). Then Ag inks were filled into the pores of PDMS molds and transferred to various substrates by imprinting techniques. Consequently, both patterns were used to produce transparent electrodes for potential electric devices. |
