Soluble Arene-Thiophene based co-Oligomers |

Soluble arene-thiophene based oligomers with aromatic central units were synthesized by Stille reaction and characterized their properties. Their HOMO energy levels were determined. The thermal stability of arene-thiophene oligomers are investigated by DSC and TGA. Their TGA results except for DSi-TTPTT show a 5% of weight loss at around 400oC, which indicate high thermal stability. Dimethyl-n-octylsilyl end substituents allow for solution-processability due to their high soluble nature. In the end, electrochemical analysis of arene-thiophene oligomers with a less electron-rich center indicate to have better oxidative stability than DSi. |
