Stretchable active layers are indispensable for enabling deformable displays and wearable devices. Although pi-conjugated polymer semiconductors have intrinsically flexible mechanical properties, highly stretchable organic semiconductors generally exhibited low electrical characteristics due to mechanical failure under high stretching condition. In this study, various conjugated organic semiconductors and their composite films were studied to develop high performance OFETs with high mobility and stretchability. The polymer semiconductor composite films were prepared via a variety of printing methods in order to induce molecular ordering and preferable alignment along the channel. As a result, we achieved relatively high performance printed OFETs with high stretchability and robustness for mechanical deformation for applications of stretchable displays and wearable devices. |
