제목 Electrochemical characterization of NASICON-type Co0.5Ti2(PO4)3 as a cathode material for sodium ion batteries
초록 Na-ion batteries (NIBs) have received attention as a candidate for next generation batteries due to cost effectiveness and relative abundance of sodium compared to lithium. Among various cathode materials for NIBs, NASICON-type materials show remarkable properties such as fast ionic conductivity, large enough interstitial empty sites, and superior structural stability of the three dimensional frame work. Here we report the electrochemical properties of NASICON-type Co0.5Ti2(PO4)3 as a cathode material during Na-ion cell cycles. Three electrode beaker-type cells have been used. The working electrode consists of Co0.5Ti2(PO4)3, super P, and PAN binder (8:1:1 in weight ratio), which was mixed and casted onto Al foil. Activated carbon and Ag/Ag+ were used as counter and reference electrodes, respectively. Co0.5Ti2(PO4)3 showed a good cyclability and rate performance up to 50 cycles. After cell cycle, structure of Co0.5Ti2(PO4)3 was observed to be stable without any degradation by measuring XRD. The retained capacity of the cell was about 85% after 50cycles.
