The conventional electrode material for lithium ion battery has a limit of its low electrical properties and highly dependence on imports. Therefore, the research is currently conducted to replace electrode materials by using various petroleum pitches. In this study, we have investigated a binder composed of petroleum pitch/polymer composite for lithium ion battery. The petroleum pitch/polymer composite based binder gave an enhanced adhesion strength when compare to the pristine petroleum pitch based binder in the lithium ion battery. The electrochemical properties of lithium ion battery were evaluated by using universal testing machine (UTM, adhesion strength, ASTM D3330), charge/discharge test, cyclic voltammetry(CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). |
