Photopatterning of functionalized polythiophenes |

Photopatternable conductive polymer was prepared from functionalized thiophene. The thiophene derivatives were polymerized by chemical polymerization and electrochemical polymerization. The polymerized conducting polymers were patternable by photoreaction because they have photoreactive side group like methacrylate. For the patterning of conductive polymer one photon lithography using photomask and UV laser was used. The conductive polymer was polymerizaed on ITO glass by electrochemical polymerization and the thickness of polymer was controllable. The conductive polythiophene was patterned under the UV irradiation, and irradiated area was bleached and showed decreased conductivity. The patterned conductive polymer was applied to electrochromic device and showed color switching properties. In this study the photopatterning and properties of patterned conductive polymer will be presented. |
