초록 |
Concerns about depletion of fossil fuels and global warming have led to increased attention to renewable energy. Photosynthetic conversion of CO2 to biomass and useful chemicals can address energy and environmental issues. We applied microscale strategies to analyze responses of microalgal cells to various external stimuli at the level of individual cells. Using these approaches, we found that phototactic and chemotactic responses of microalgae have strong relationships with their photosynthetic efficiency. Also suggests that microalgae utilize tactic response to obtain optimum energy by changing their position. The high-throughput screening strategy was developed as a shortcut to isolation of strains with improved photosynthetic efficiency. In addition, we developed to select the improved strains with carbon uptake and photosynthetic efficiency using integrated screening system. These approaches will improve photosynthetic productivity of microalgae. |
