DSSCs are regarded as a regenerative low-cost alternative to traditional photovoltaic devices based on the p-n junction diode. A conversion efficiency of 11% was achieved by using liquid electrolytes incorporating I-/I3- as redox couple; however, DSSCs employing liquid electrolytes have defects such as leakage and evaporation of the solvent. Recently, to substitute liquid electrolytes with solid or quasi solid state electrolytes, oligomer electrolytes have been researched. In this study, we present a new oligomer electrolytes containing layered titanate as gelator. The oligomer electrolytes were composed of PEGDME, MPII, I2 and layered titanate. In other to improve stability and dispersion of layered titanate in oligomer electrolyte, we approached oligomer intercalation in gallery of layered titanate. As a result, stability and efficiency of the DSSCs with oligomer intercalation were enhanced. Furthermore, the layered titanate can help enhance ion-conductivity in polymer electrolyte. |
