As one of quantum dot materials, ZnSe has almost non-toxicity, higher luminescent efficiency and lower absorption coefficient. In order to improve the quantum yields and the photochemical stability of QDs, they need to be encapsulated in inert materials such as silica. In the present work, the NP5 (nonionic)/AOT (anionic) mixed microemulsion system was employed for preparation of silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs. Then, the photoluminescence properties of the QDs were characterized by absorption, photoluminescence spectra and transmission electron microscopy. The obtained silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs have good crystallizability and good stability. Moreover, we investigated the temperature-dependent PL of silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs. The present results showed that the silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs may be potential media for sensitive temperature sensing. |
