Electrical and rheological properties of polyamide 6,6 / multiwalled carbon nanotube composites |

CNT has exceptional properties and large aspect ratio make them excellent candidates as fillers in multifunctional nanocomposites. In this work, the electrical properties and the rheological properties of polyamide 6,6/MWNT nanocomposites were investigated. MWNT’s surfaces were modified using acid treatment for better compatibility with PA66 matrix. PA66/MWNT nanocomposites containing different MWNT contents (0~5wt %) were prepared by melt mixing method. The dispersion of MWNT in PA66 matrix was observed by SEM. The electrical properties were characterized by 2 point probe method (Probe Station). The rheological properties were studied by advanced rheometric expansion system (ARES). As a result, PA66/MWNT nanocomposites had the electrical percolation threshold and showed solid-like behavior with increasing the MWNT content. |
