Preparation and Characterization of Cell Cytokine and Cytotoxicity Evaluation of Natural Herbal Extracts |

Curcuma aromatica(CA) and Eucommia ulmoides(EU) have are recognized as medical herbs with strong antibiotic properties. In this study, to evaluate the cell cytotoxicity of the CA and EU extracts mixtures (CAEU) on human mast cells(HMC-1), the CA and EU were extracted with distilled water (at 75 ℃) and then the CAEU was freeze-dried for 5 days and sterilized using γ-rays. The cytotoxicity was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assayand the effects of CAEU on TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8cytokine response in HMC-1 were investigated. These results showed that the CAEU did not affect cell viability and had no toxicity. CAEU inhibited antigen-induced TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 production in HMC-1 cells. |
