Fiber reinforcement is an effective method to enhance the properties of plastic. The objective of Fiber reinforcement is to improve the properties of base polymer. FRP is new materials mainly focus on metal replacement, and its final products have exceptional stiffness and excellent impact resistance due to network structures of fibers in them. In this study, we made FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) by melt impregnation process using the reinforcement (glass fiber, carbon fiber) and thermoplastic (Polypropylene, polyamide). The melt impregnation means that the fibers coated with resins by adhesion between reinforced fiber and thermoplastics. Our research focused on the compatibility between reinforced fiber and thermoplastics. To improve the compatibility we use the coupling agent such as PP-g-MAH is used to enhance the bond between reinforced fiber and thermoplastics. |
