제목 Electroactive Shape Memory Effect of Polyurethane Composites Mixed of Carbon Nanotube and Polypyrrole
초록 Shape memory materials have the capability of changing their shape upon application of an external stimulus. We report the electroactive shape memory composites obtained by combining shape memory polyurethane, multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), and polypyrrole (PPy). A series of composites with different MWNTs and PPy composition were prepared, and their morphology, material properties, and electroactive shape recovery were investigated. From the morphological observation by SEM, it was found that the MWNTs could be well dispersed in PU matrix by controlling morphology with different mixing of PPy and MWNTs. For the sample incorporating 2.5 wt% MWNTs, the modulus and tensile strength were improved by about 227% and 53%, respectively, whereas those of the composites decreased with the addition of PPy. The PPy-coated PU-MWNTs composites showed the highest conductivity. Such the conductivity of this composite was enough to show good electroactive shape recovery by applying voltage to the sample.
